Relive the emotional roller-coaster of the Cell Saga in DRAGON BALL Z: KAKAROT! Starting with the ominous arrival of the Androids all the way up to the crushing intensity of the Cell Games, play through high-octane battles as Goku, Vegeta, Gohan and more! #gamescom2019
Truth be told, I don't play nor buy too many Dragon Ball Z-inspired games. I may have dabbled in the Budokai series or some of the other various DBZ-based outings throughout the years, but I haven't bought/owned a DBZ title since the PSX era of gaming. I might cave for Dragon Ball FighterZ at some point (once they finally do a deal with all of the character DLC to date), but this game is peaking my interest from the more news I keep hearing about it.
They already confirmed that a DLC side mission where Goku gets his drivers' license (based on the very same filler episode that was hilarious to watch Goku and Piccolo be forced by Chi-Chi to do this) will be part of the game as additional content and seeing this emotional journey played out of Goku's fatherhood to his would-be successor in Gohan in the Cell Saga looks like it would be a joy to play through. Too bad Gohan didn't live up to that role as Toriyama brought Goku and Vegeta back to the frontlines to deal with the next major baddie that threatened the Earth (Majin Buu) and continue to do so in Dragon Ball Super. To Gohan's credit though, he was a superb team captain for the 7th Universe during the Tournament of Power story arc.
Bandai Namco tends to deliver (most of the time anyway) on these anime-based properties, so I think this will be in good hands since it's supposed to be a story-driven single player campaign and not another arena brawler like their last few games with anime-based properties. *Cough* Jump Force *Cough*
