I've honestly kept my eye on this over the last few months in anticipation of it's release as I was wondering what Studio Trigger had up their sleeves next. This looks visually amazing in terms of presentation and style and doesn't skip a beat in terms of over-the-top animation style that Trigger is known for. I'm anxious to see how this turns out. By the way, am I crazy for thinking the main character was Kamina from Gurren Lagann for a second there?
The director of Kill la Kill and Gurren Lagann's first film stars Galo, a member of a rescue team that quells the flames of people who spontaneously combust called the Burnish. Combustion isn't death for all Burnish, though, and some of these mutants like Lio Fotia can control the fire to cause chaos.
Promare is the first movie from Studio Trigger (Kill la Kill, Little Witch Academia) and hits theaters in the U.S. starting September 17.
