Gotham’s worst brings out their best. Meet Harley Quinn, Black Canary, Huntress, Renee Montoya, and Cassandra Cain. #BirdsOfPrey in theaters 2.7.20.
I'll be completely honest here, but I'm not feeling this at all.
It feels like they are ATTEMPTING to be a live-action version of the Harley Quinn cartoon that's on DC Universe, but I just don't see it working with the characters they have lined up for this, even more so from the actresses they have playing them. Cassandra Cain was the immediate red flag right off the bat when I heard her actually speak. To say that Margot Robbie is going around tell people to catch up on the lore and comics, yet she's pumping money into this but didn't tell anyone that Cain's character is mute? I just got a feeling that they are going to fuck this up royally.
The only thing I want to see in this is Ewan McGregor's portrayal of Black Mask.
If I'm perfectly honest, I wasn't too crazy about her live-action portrayal of Harley Quinn in Suicide Squad in the first place. I can't speak for anyone else, but it's definitely a huge red flag when this is allegedly going to release next month and we're just now getting a second full length trailer. Shazam and Aquaman both got Warner Bros. into good graces with fans concerning the DCEU, but I don't see this film going over too well at all.
