Welcome to WandaVision. Coming soon to Disney+. Marvel Studios' captivating new series "WandaVision" stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, and marks the first series from Marvel Studios streaming exclusively on Disney+. The series is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision—two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.

There's a bit of casting news to come out of this trailer too. Kat Dennings is returning to the MCU to reprise her role as Darcy Lewis from the Thor movies while Randall Park reprises his role as Jimmy Woo from Ant-Man & The Wasp. Benedict Cumberbatch is confirmed to appear in the series as Doctor Strange. Kathryn Hahn is credited as a "nory neighbor" in the credits, but she's referred to as Agnes in the trailer, causing many comic book savvy fans to speculate that she is Agatha Harkness, the woman who trained Wanda in magic in the comics. Teyonah Parris is making her MCU debut as the adult Monica Rambeau after appearing as a child in Captain Marvel. Parris looks like she would be a great fit for the part, even if she doesn't become Photon/Captain Marvel II in this series. They could easily plant the seeds for that though. Last but not least, Evan Peters is credited in an unspecified role. I think it would be hilarious if he appears in this as a multiverse version of Quicksilver since they do have the rights to do this following the Disney buyout of 20th Century Fox.

Overall, I thought this was fun tease at what is to come with this series with a lot of clever Easter eggs that I'm sure that savvy fans will be able to pick on with references to Scarlet Witch and Vision's scattered comic book history. It's going to be interesting what radical changes and/or explanations will be in store for Wanda following the events of Avengers: Endgame, especially for Vision after realizing that he died.

FYI this series is scheduled to release later this year to close out 2020 since The Falcon & The Winter Soldier had to be rescheduled due to complications to shoots during the COVID-19 pandemic. Either way, I'm just glad we're getting something new on the Marvel front, especially another great reason to keep paying for my Disney+ subscription.
