Watch the full gameplay demo of Ghost of Tsushima featuring combat and stealth, exploration mechanics, how you'll level up your character with unique gear and items, and more you won't want to miss. Ghosts of Tsushima is coming from developer Sucker Punch Productions on July 17th, 2020. Presentation from May 14th's PlayStation State of Play event.
A part of me is a little mad that I watched this presentation. I can see that this game isn't as flawless as it originally looked in the early trailers and now I'm questioning whether or not how much are the visuals are being rendered in real-time or if the loading environments are being masked behind all of that fog and darkness. Remember that Final Fantasy VII Remake does a similar trick with loading screens between chapters and it's linear progression. That being said, this seems like a mash-up between Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Horizon: Zero Dawn, Assassin's Creed, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild all rolled up in one game. I still can't wrap my head around exactly how the swordplay works though. Is it parries and deathblows like Sekiro or some new twist on breaking sword stances from traditional samurai swordsmanship? Either way, you got me interested. I'm still surprised that this is coming out in July 2020.

Shouldn't they push this back a little bit to get some polish during this pandemic? (Shrugs) I dunno. I'm pretty leery as is to be investing in any new AAA titles right now when most studios are working at a fraction of their man-power with this global pandemic going on.
